We’re all part of the solution

Mobility Montréal consists of about twenty partners working together to mitigate the impacts of roadwork and public transportation projects on traffic.

Mobility Montréal governance

Under the authority of the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable, member organizations sit on seven main committees, the mandates of which complement each other.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee establishes Mobility Montréal’s strategic orientations, including priorities for action, studies and measures to be evaluated. It prioritizes projects among the major contractors. It also approves the rules of governance (mandates, membership, responsibilities and operation) of Mobility Montréal’s committees. This committee is co-chaired by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the mayors of Montréal, Longueuil and Laval.

Advisory Committee

Co-chaired by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable and the Ville de Montréal, the Advisory Committee ensures compliance with the directions of the Executive Committee. It also monitors the effectiveness of the work of other committees and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee.

Communications Committee

In collaboration with Mobility Montréal’s member partners, the Communications Committee informs road users of major hindrances, mitigation measures, and active transportation and public transit options. It encourages road users, as well as active transportation and public transit users, to plan their trips and to make changes to their transportation habits.

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee compiles an overview of Mobility Montréal’s activities and provides partners with information related to major roadwork projects, the coordination of large-scale events and public transit ridership. It also identifies areas where the coordination of closures should be optimized.

Planning Subcommittee – 1 to 5 Years

This subcommittee analyzes, over a one-to five-year horizon, the roadwork planned by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable and partners, to identify sectors with a high concentration of hindrances. These analyses ensure that their roadwork activities are coordinated, and that network mobility is preserved.

Subcommittee on Public Transit Mitigation Measures

This subcommittee develops and implements mitigation measures promoting the use of public transit to reduce the impacts of major hindrances caused by one or more Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable worksites.

Coordination Subcommittee on Major Hindrances on Weekends

This subcommittee regularly coordinates major hindrances by the MTMD and partners on weekends. It analyzes the impacts of closures and identifies improvements that can be made to maximize roadwork efficiency while maintaining optimal network mobility.
