An active and committed technical committee

Responsible for establishing an overview of Mobilité Montréal’s activities and coordinating events between partners, the technical committee met 12 times throughout the year.

These meetings provided a forum to:

  • Follow up on ongoing and future projects.
  • Coordinate closures that conflict with high-traffic events.
  • Develop an accessibility and mobility strategy for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
  • Share and optimize mobility initiatives across network stakeholders (BIXI, taxis, public transit, etc.).

In addition to holding technical committee meetings, Mobilité Montréal partners meet every two weeks to coordinate major weekend closures.

At these meetings, members analyze the impact of past and future closures and identify areas for improvement to maximize the completion of work while maintaining optimal mobility.

Planning for the future: a subcommittee dedicated to the short-term vision (1–5 years)

The short-term (1–5 years) planning subcommittee also played a key role in preparing for upcoming work and identifying critical areas where the density of congestion is likely to increase.

Its actions focussed on:

  • monitoring projects in the planning stage
  • coordinating the upcoming work of the Ministère and its partners to reduce overlap between construction sites

More than 50 projects were analyzed by this subcommittee.
